My inspiration is taken from my love of the coast. Aldeburgh being a family focal point, where my Grandparents lived. Even though they have sadly passed away my connection is still as strong. I visit Aldeburgh on a regular basis. The memories live on through my Textile Art. I start by capturing, with photography, the continual changing and motion of the seascape. I develop this by abstraction and interpretation through my weave. I enjoy using textile surface pattern to reflect my memories and visions. The use of repetition reflects the movement of the sea. The warp and the weft express the connection of waves stretching out upon the shingle shore. A continuous pattern which connects the sea through my expression and style of weave.
I create handmade cards, scarves, mounted and framed Textile Art. Framed work size varies from 18cm x 13cm to 60cm x 22cm.
