Kietas sculptures resonate oceanic influences from her childhood in the southwest of England. The sculptures are evocative of lobster pots, fish traps and fishing nets. Her interest lies not only in the basic structures of these vesels but also in their purpose of trapping, holding and containment, along with the corrosive impact of the sea.
